H2sea returns to World Hydrogen Summit 2026 in Rotterdam

Offshore hydrogen platform at sea with World Hydrogen Summit 2026 event announcement in Rotterdam

H2sea will once again exhibit at the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition, taking place from 19–21 May in Ahoy, Rotterdam. Marking its fifth consecutive participation, H2sea has been present since the very first edition of the event.

At this year’s summit, H2sea will showcase its onshore and offshore hydrogen solutions, supporting the development of integrated hydrogen value chains. Visitors are invited to the H2sea stand to learn more about the our latest in-house research and ongoing demonstration projects.

Representing H2sea at the event are Edwin van Drunen, Pascal Ferier, Tom Evertse, Mohool Misra and Marika van Pol, who will be available throughout the exhibition to discuss developments in hydrogen and explore collaboration opportunities.

To schedule a meeting in advance, please contact Marika van Pol at marika@h2sea.nl.

H2sea pitches Solution to Energy Trilemma at WindEurope 2026

H2sea pitches solution for Energy Trilemma at WindEurope 2026

At WindEurope 2026 in Madrid, H2sea attracted strong interest at the Netherlands Pavilion, where Tom Evertse delivered a sharp pitch focused on the energy trilemma: balancing sustainability, affordability, and energy security.

As offshore wind scales rapidly, system limitations are becoming clear. Grid congestion and curtailment are leading to lost renewable energy, while large parts of the energy system still depend on fossil-based fuels. Electricity alone is not enough to drive the transition.

Rather than treating offshore wind as a standalone power source, Tom positioned it as a cornerstone of an integrated energy system—one that connects electrons and molecules, and unlocks the full value of renewable generation.

The takeaway: the energy is already there. The opportunity lies in using it more effectively to solve the energy trilemma.
H2sea already delivers these solutions—integrating offshore wind with hydrogen production, offering offshore hydrogen platforms across 50–1000 MW to onshore hydrogen production modules.

H2sea exhibiting at WindEurope 2026 Madrid - Dutch Pavilion stand g-G20

From 21–23 April, H2sea will be present at WindEurope 2026 in Madrid. You can find us in the Innovation Quarter of the Dutch Pavilion (stand 9-G20).

We will be showcasing our green hydrogen solutions across the complete value chain, ranging from our newly introduced onshore hydrogen production modules to complete offshore hydrogen platforms.

Our approach ensures a balanced and integrated system design, with a strong focus on balance of stack engineering. In addition, we address key system interfaces such as pipeline integration, grid stabilisation and off-grid solutions.

On behalf of H2sea ,Tom Evertse, Technical Consultant, will be present at our booth. If you are looking for expertise for your hydrogen project, feel free to reach out via t.evertse@H2sea.n to connect or schedule a meeting in advance.

Looking forward to meet you in Madrid!

H2sea Presents at DMEC Deep Dive on Offshore Green Hydrogen

H2sea gives presentation at DMEC during Deep Dive on Offshore Green Hydrogen

H2sea was invited to present at the DMEC Deep Dive, a quarterly international forum hosted by the Dutch Marine Energy Centre (DMEC). DMEC serves as an accelerator and knowledge hub for offshore renewable energy innovation.

The June edition, held on 17 June, focused on offshore green hydrogen, bringing together key stakeholders to explore the latest developments, technological maturity, and market readiness of this rapidly evolving sector. Discussions also addressed the challenges and opportunities of integrating green hydrogen into existing offshore energy infrastructure.

Mohool Misra, project engineer hydrogen at H2sea, shared insights from H2sea’s current research projects and future vision for offshore hydrogen production. Other speakers included Bureau Veritas, the OASIS project, Eindhoven University of Technology, and DMEC itself.

We thank DMEC for the opportunity and look forward to continued collaboration in advancing offshore hydrogen solutions.

Hydrogen engineers from H2SEA give lectures in Finland

Lectures by H2SEA on hydrogen in Finland.

A team of hydrogen engineers and consultants from H2SEA visited Finland last week to give several lectures on the integration of hydrogen technologies within offshore infrastructure.

Energy professionals involved in the development of Finland’s first offshore wind farm attended the lectures along with industry experts seeking offshore hydrogen solutions.

During the sessions, H2SEA also provided insights on offshore hydrogen production and transportation, sharing expertise on the evolving role of hydrogen in sustainable energy systems.

The attendees expressed great interest in H2SEA’s knowledge and solutions, appreciating their relevance to Finland’s ambitious climate goals and decarbonisation efforts.

H2SEA speaker at Wind Energy Technology Summit Gent

Tom Evertse, Technical Consultant Offshore Hydrogen at H2SEA, will be presenting at the Wind Energy Technology Summit in Gent, Belgium on June 4th. His lecture will cover different concepts and philosophies for hydrogen production at sea.

The Wind Energy Technology Summit is dedicated to the production of green electrons and molecules at sea and organised by Sirris, OWI-Lab, Agoria Energy Technology Club and WaterstofNet.

The first day of the conference, June 4th, will focus on offshore hydrogen, while the second day, June 5th, will address structural integrity issues related to offshore foundations and constructions. This marks the 4th edition of the Wind Energy Technology Summit.

H2SEA study reveals costs of Energy Storage Systems can be reduced by 75%

Green hydrogen company H2SEA has completed a study showing that the costs for ESS (Energy Storage Systems) on offshore hydrogen platforms can be reduced by 75%.

H2SEA investigated different cost reduction scenarios for offshore green hydrogen production with a connection to an off-grid windfarm for the power supply.

Due to an extensive network of technology partners, H2SEA has access to accurate data of hydrogen building blocks. Different configurations have been evaluated, taking both grid stability and cost implications in mind.

One of the cost reduction strategies involves the integration of different transformers optimising space and cost per megavolt-amperes/m2, and the use of a smart ESS.

Further, a different configuration of the energy storage and electrolyser system can reduce infrastructure requirements.

One of the configurations that H2SEA has modelled, leads to a 75% decrease in costs of the ESS, which is quite a significant part of CAPEX investment, making green offshore hydrogen production a feasible economic option as renewable fuel in the future.
